Before you flirt with him, try and find out if he's gay (or bi) or not. Ask his friends, try and get to know him and see if he seems to like girls or not (remember not everyone is out in high school, so he might flirt with girls as a cover). Then if you think he might like you, try and flirt with him a bit. Tell him you like his hair or his clothes, etc and see how it goes. If he's weird about it, maybe he's straight or not interested.....if he ends up mad at you, he's graduating soon anyway, so it's not like you will end up having to keep seeing him after that....

Dude!, I'm in the exact same spot as you and it sucks(18, in love, don't know how he feels, same situation)! It's hard befriended someone you don't really know eh?; My advice would be hold your eye contact with him longer and maybe sneak in a smile every now and then, if he returns it then there might be something! And when you feel like you know him a little better, tell him how you feel, but be prepared for the consequences, he could completely blow you off OR you could enter an amazing relationship!
